Telemundo Spotlights CVLS

Telemundo Chicago recientemente produjo un episodio noticiero enfocándose en CVLS (Servicios Legales Voluntarios de Chicago) y los servicios legales gratuitos que CVLS le proviene a la comunidad y a un cliente en particular. Manuel Escalera perdió su empleo y estaba casi al punto de perder su casa. El banco empezó el proceso de ejecutar la hipoteca de la casa familiar cuando el Sr. Escalera fue a CVLS donde le dieron la dirección necesaria para rescatar y retener su hogar. El Sr. Escalera le dijo al reportero que él nunca perdió fe en su abogado de CVLS, Salvador Lopez.

CVLS Hosts Filipino Legal Professionals with World Chicago's International Visitor Leadership Program

CVLS, in conjunction with World Chicago, was pleased to host a group of Filipino legal professionals interested in gaining a better understanding of U.S. government agencies, as well as public and private organizations involved in alternative diplomacy and dispute mediation. 

Kristen's Thoughts on her Jury Duty Experience

CVLS Panel Referral Program Coordinator Kristen Harrison's commitment to bettering her community is undeniable. Kristen manages the entire case placement process, reviewing all different types of cases that CVLS accepts and making sure that each one goes to the volunteer attorney best suited to handle it. In addition to the amazing work she does for CVLS, Kristen recently contributed to her community in a different capacity: jury duty! Here is her account of that experience.
