How does the Junior Board support CVLS?
The Junior Board is uniquely positioned to create a positive impact in the legal community; it brings together different backgrounds, communities and ideas to create a symbiotic relationship between CVLS and the legal field. CVLS fosters its Junior Board members’ involvement in the legal aid community, while members utilize their skills and networks in advocating for CVLS.
The annual Junior Board event, Vino & Van Gogh, raises additional funds and awareness for CVLS. Organized by members of the Junior Board, the event includes wine and a display of local artwork, attended by young professionals from both inside and outside the legal field. Vino & Van Gogh is a wonderful opportunity for all professionals to enjoy art, food, music and drinks while mingling with old friends and making new connections.
CLE for Young Professionals
In an ongoing series of Continuing Legal Education, members of the Junior Board organize and participate in seminars geared toward young attorneys. The panel format encourages discussion with Junior Board members, guest panelists and the attendees. Topics, all geared toward the legal field, incorporate an emphasis on pro bono.
CVLS’ Junior Board provides an outlet to discuss new opportunities, to engage with peers in the legal industry and to further promote pro bono volunteerism – all against the backdrop of a good cause.
